So the heavyweight champ against possibly the best US contender isn't even PPV?

HBO seem to make some strange decisions when it comes to PPV's :?

Ah yeah, it could be because its in Germany I guess. I think HBO usually repeat the European cards again later in the night tho, so you'd think they would have got enough PPV buys between the 2 broadcasts.

(I think all our American friends are still sleeping which is why they havent answered )

Thompson is still nobody really....and not exciting at all...they couldn't get away with trying to put that rubbish on PPV ;-) Maybe a unification bout with Wlad but not with Thompson....the average person has never even seen him before.

lol, yeah I guess you're right, but saying that HBO have done stranger things in the past  Its a shame that the heavyweight champ versus a US contender didnt get better coverage over there. Once upon a time that would have been big news.

I just don't see how you can make a Wlad fight PPV at all , poor bloke's the best around by miles but just crap to watch I watched it , wasn't bloody interested at all sorry he's just boring and frustrating.

p.s. - the undercard was pretty poo as well (it consisted of 1 fight then an hour break til the main event came one) Jonathon Banks beat Vincenzo Rossito at cruiserweight and looked lazy and disinterested at times.PPV would've been criminal for that effort last night.

Right now Vitali is blocking his brother from probably the only heavyweight fight that could be PPv. Peter vs Klitschko II would be interesting & entertaining. I think if HBO packaged it with a solid undercard it could do well on PPV.

lol, you're spot on Fluffy. The fight, and Wlad's performance were both dire.. And that hour+ long break was rubbish. They must have had some fight they could have filled it with.. Why didnt they start the show an hour later or something? Can you imagine HBO doing that?

I agree with Erikk, Vitali is a fight-blocker. Peter vs Klitchsko II would be worth paying for in my opinion.
